The Role: Electrical Design Technician
As an Electrical Design Technician, you will be at the heart of the technical team, turning concepts into detailed, high-performance electrical systems. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on precision, CAD software, and ensuring safety standards are met at every stage of a project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design & Drafting: Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using industry-leading tools like AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical.
* Documentation: Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and technical device lists.
* Compliance: Ensure all designs align with international safety standards (IEC, ATEX, NEC).
* Engineering Support: Perform load and voltage drop calculations and support project managers during installation and commissioning phases.
* Problem Solving: Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical troubleshooting to optimize performance.
What They’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
* Education: A Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum 3-year technical program).
* Experience: Proven experience in electrical design and drafting, particularly with control panels and low-voltage systems.
* Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or SolidWorks Electrical.
* Attributes: High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a team environment.
